Expeditions (and major trips)

This page contains a brief overview of some of the major trips and expeditions which I have been lucky enough to go on. I hope you like having a look at them. Some pages even have GPS data interactng with Google Maps.

World Tour 2007

World TourWhilst I am out travelling I intend to occasionally update this page. I will post things like where I have been and what I was doing there; to help me I'm probably going to take my GPS on the trip with me. I intend on visiting Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, India, Nepal and New Zealand.

Norway 2006

NorwayThis Easter I was lucky enough to spend almost 2 weeks in Norway cross country skiing through the Hardangervidda National Park. We covered over 100km and slept in DNT Huts and one snow hole. Very cool. We even managed to hitch a ride in a snow plough too - get in!!

Russia 2005

RussiaDuring the end of the summer I was able to go to St Petersburg with some friends from Uni for 10 days, staying in a Youth Hostel. Flying out to Estonia and coming back via Lativa, the trip as a whole was a very good experience.

Laos 2005

In the summer I was able to go to my favourite place for the second time; very lucky. We stayed in Vientiene for over 2 weeks and travelled south on the Mekong to see the Irrawaddy dolphins, which we actually saw. Not bad to say there are about only 100 left in the whole world!!

France 2004

FranceProbably Rich and I's first major independant foriegn trip, which was to the French Pyrennes. Our intention was to climb the mountain Vignemale, which we did via a 3 day trek through the region. One of the best trips of my life, very VERY good.

Y12 DofE 2004

Y12 DofEDuring the summer I went back to my old sixth form (KES) and helped out with their major expedition to Scotland. This was the first year of me helping on the Y12 trip, having previously only done the Y9 in the peaks. The previous year I was a Y12 on the very same trip, so it was interesting having the roles reversed.
